I’m really excited to be announcing this at last – a project I’ve been working on with Bath Mind over the past few months went live today, for Mental Health Awareness week!
Room 627 is an online space offering mental health and wellbeing support to young people moving up to secondary school from primary school.
For the website build, I worked in collaboration with Bath Mind, a group of creatives and a wonderful cohort of Year 7 students from Oldfield School in Bath. It’s the first time I’ve worked with a group of young people as part of a website build, and it’s been such a joy to be a part of ?
The resulting website is light, colourful and playful to use. The intention has been to create a website by young people, for young people.
The website has a cabinet of compassion packed full of completely free tools, tips and activities for young people, teachers and families to use, and more will be added over the coming months and throughout the project.
If you know someone who has moved up to Year 7 recently, will do in the future, or is a teacher who might find these resources useful, please please do pass them on.
Room 627 is a collaboration between Bath Mind and The Dept. of Kindness. It is a 2 year project which has been funded by the #iwill fund – a joint investment from the National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and is free for all to use.
