Terms of Service

It means a lot to me that we build a healthy, happy working relationship together. I promise to carry out work for you to the best of my ability, in exchange for you agreeing to respect my terms of service.

Below are the terms of service you agree to if you hire me for any ongoing website editing work:

Contacting me

Please contact me by email initially for website edits at rhiannon@rhiannonadler.co.uk

If you contact me by other means I may not receive and respond to your message. If you’d prefer to speak face to face, you can book a Zoom chat with me here.

Working hours

I work flexible hours between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. I am not available outside of these hours.

I can usually carry out work within 2 weeks of the request, depending on my workload. I’ll let you know my availability when you get in touch.

If you have a deadline you wish to meet, please let me know in your initial contact. I will let you know whether I am able to meet your deadline. I cannot guarantee I can carry out same-day requests.

All content for website amendments must be provided by you. I may be able to source images on your behalf by written agreement, which will be chargeable at hourly rates (not including additional costs for stock photography).

Please send all images as high resolution jpgs (in their original format). Do not send images embedded in documents, such as Microsoft Word or Pages documents.

Please send logos and other graphics as transparent .pngs where possible, or send the original design files (e.g. .ai or .eps).

I will begin work on requested website edits once I have received all content and other information I may have requested. To make things move quicker, please provide me with clear written instructions as to what edits you want making, and what pages they are on.

I charge in hourly increments. For my most up to date rates, please see my Website Editing page here.

I will give an estimated cost for each piece of website editing work requested.

In the majority of cases, invoices will be emailed after work completion for the full amount of work. Due dates and details for payment can be found on your invoice.

Late payments will incur a fee of 3% for every week the overdue invoice remains unpaid. If you have an exceptional circumstance for a delayed payment, please do let me know as soon as you can.

Urgent issues

If you have an urgent request, I will try to get back to you as soon as I can within my working hours. I cannot guarantee same-day responses, or priority treatment, but I will always try to help out as soon as I am able.

Hosting & domain issues

I would recommend trying to resolve hosting and domain issues yourself before contacting me, by getting in touch with the relevant support services. Not only will you likely get your problem resolved much faster and cheaper, many times the support team need to speak directly to you to fully understand the nature of the problem. They’re often a really friendly and helpful bunch!

You can find out about Siteground support here and Namecheap support here.

Software updates

When I make website edits, it may be necessary to perform any software updates required on your site. This includes core WordPress updates, theme updates and plugin updates. These updates, and correcting any design issues that may arise, is chargeable at hourly rates (though often not a timely process). I will take a full backup of the website before I perform any updates.

If you would prefer me not to make these updates, please ensure you keep your website software up to date. You can request I don’t perform the updates, but do be aware this may mean I am unable to carry out the edits you require.

Legal stuff

I’ll carry out my work in accordance with good industry practice. That said, I can’t guarantee that my work will be error-free and so I can’t be liable to you or any third party for damages, including lost profits, lost savings or other incidental, consequential or special damages, even if you’ve advised me of them.

It is your responsibility to seek legal advice and ensure your website and business meets UK, EU or any other legal standards.

You guarantee that all elements of text, images or other artwork you provide are either owned by your good selves, or that you have permission to use them. When you provide text, images or other artwork to me, you agree to protect me from any claim by a third party that I’m using their intellectual property.

I guarantee that all elements of the work I deliver to you are either owned by me or I’ve obtained permission to provide them to you. When I provide text, images or other artwork to you, I agree to protect you from any claim by a third party that you’re using their intellectual property.
