Cat & house sitting in the UK
Solo female offering calm care for your furry friends in the West Country & beyond
Hi, I’m Rhiannon!
I’m a 40 year old artist, designer & creative wellbeing practitioner. I travel about the UK working as a digital nomad whilst cat and house sitting.
I am fully insured and DBS checked.
I’m a non-smoker and I have my own car. I’m also very open to sits on canal boats, and am happy to care for other small animals such as fish, chickens, rabbits etc.
I grew up with cats in my family home, and have been trusted to care for other people’s pets since I was 17.
I adore having kitty company, and being self-employed I work remotely, which means I’m able to be around to give your furry family plenty of attention.
I’d love to hear from you if you are looking for a gentle, reliable sitter. Check my rates, see my availability or contact me.
The proof of the care is in the cat…
“Absolutely wonderful Rhiannon! Thank you so much for taking such good care of Cassie and my home. I came back to a very happy, relaxed cat. I am so grateful.”
Esther, via Trusted Housesitters
“Rhiannon has been cat-sitting for our 2 cats Fifi & Ava for the past few years. She has never let us down and our cats love her.
Rhiannon is conscientious and considerate. She is a very good communicator. She respects our home and we are always delighted to come home and find it as tidy/clean as we left it.
We would recommend Rhiannon unreservedly.”
Rachel & Dave Risley
Rhiannon looked after our cat Hagrid for four weeks whilst we were travelling abroad. Rhiannon went above and beyond in her dedication and care of Hagrid and we were very grateful knowing he was in such capable hands as we were so far away. The house was left clean and tidy and even some daffodils left in a vase to welcome us home. We felt very comfortable trusting her with our home and cat and found her to be very reliable. We would have no hesitation in recommending Rhiannon most highly as a cat/house sitter.

Know me better
I grew up mainly in the west country, in the countryside near Bath, and a lot of my family still live there so I particularly love to do sits in and around Bath, Bristol, Bradford-on-Avon & Frome.
I love the quiet, slow and simple life. I adore spending time out in nature, going for walks, reading books, doing jigsaw puzzles, going out for brunch or coffee, chatting to a good friend, knitting and watching murder mysteries.
I’m an artist, and run my own online business as a creative wellbeing practitioner and designer. I sell my own cards, design website and run creative workshops and programmes online. You can find out more about my values and my work over on my website here.
I love animals of all kinds, but have a particular affinity with cats, having been raised with them, and being a bit of an introvert! My family had 6 cats in total over the years, including one stray who decided to adopt us as his family. I make friends with cats wherever I go, and always take my lead from them on what kind of attention they like and want.
Rates
My standard rate is £20 a day for fully-insured live-in sitting of one cat.
Additional cats cost £5/day.
Contact me directly for a quote for smaller animals such as chickens, rabbits or reptiles.
For pets that require additional care, such as medication administering or daily grooming, my rate is £30 a day. Travel expenses may apply, depending on your location - see the FAQ.
I do not charge for house or boat sitting without any pet-care.
I am open to adapting to budgets for sits that particularly suit my needs. This includes sits in my preferred locations of Bath, Bradford-on-Avon and Frome and surroundings, as well as sits on canal boats. If you are looking for a “free” or mutual exchange pet sit, you may need to book me through Trusted Housesitters, as this then provides me with the cover and protections my own insurance would otherwise provide.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Live-in pet sitting means that I stay in your home and care for your pet(s) while you are away. I feed them, clean up after them, play with them, and generally make sure your loved ones are well cared for and kept happy while you are away.
Cats in particular are creatures of habit and don’t like change, and can become unhappy kept in kennels for a long time. In my own family we definitely noticed our cats were much happier when someone was able to come to our house and look after them while we were away instead of going into kennels.
I’ll learn exactly how your pets need to be cared for, and make sure I follow your instructions closely. I’ll also make sure everything is generally ok in the house - bring in post, put out bins and recycling, water plants if needed.
I’ll bring my own food and toiletries. You will be responsible for making sure there is enough pet food, cat litter and/or any other pet supplies required in the house for the duration of the sit. You will also continue to be responsible for any household bills for the duration of my stay.
I’m a very concientious and low-maintenance visitor. I’ll leave everything clean and tidy for you.

My expertise is mainly with cats. However I am also happy to look after fish, chickens, geese, rabbits, and many other small animals. I don’t have as much experience with these other animals, but I’m a quick learner.
I do not sit for dogs, as some health issues mean I cannot guarantee I can regularly give them the exercise they need. And as a solo female, I don’t feel confident caring for larger/livestock animals such as horses, cows or sheep for example.
If you have another animal in mind however, do get in touch to see if I can help.

I mainly agree to sits in the South of the UK, especially the West Country. However at times I choose to travel about the UK, and may be able to accommodate a sit for you much further afield than that.
If reaching your sit location requires me to travel further than 30 miles from either my previous location or Bath, then you may need to pay additional travel expenses.
I would consider sits outside the UK, however my personal insurance does not cover these, so they would need to be booked through Trusted Housesitters. You can find my profile here.

Yes I have my own car, which means I am happy to take on sits in more remote and rural locations. It also means that should your pet need taking to the vets unexpectedly, I am able to drive them.
-
The cost of my travel to reach your sit is included within a 30 mile radius of Bath, or from my location immediately prior to the sit. Beyond that, I charge 45p per mile travelled (based on whichever location is closer).
There may be instances where I can waive the travel cost (e.g. if I was planning to head in your direction anyway to visit friends or family, or I am looking for a holiday in a particular location), so always contact me for a quote.
-
I have Public Liability Cover with Protectivity’s Pet Business Insuance plan, which includes Pet Sitting, Pet Minding and Pet Transportation.
Mainly, my insurance covers me in the case of accidents or emergencies in relation to your pet, and issues such as key loss. It does not provide cover for your home or contents, so please ensure you have relevant home and contents insurance in place.
-
My last DBS certificate was issued in 2024. It was an enhanced check, and no issues were raised. If you would like to view a copy of this certificate, let me know and I can email you a photograph.

There’s no minimum or maximum duration I will sit for, as it all depends on my other plans around the times of your sit. Please get in touch however long the sit might be. Generally, I prefer sits that are a minimum of 1 week, but sits for only a few days occasionally suit me too.
If your sit will be 1 month or longer, it may be more beneficial for us to arrange the sit through Trusted Housesitters, but please feel free to contact me here first.

I do have experience with medication administration for cats, and so on occassion I will take on sits where the pet requires medication. This is on a case-by-case basis, and comes with higher sitting rates, so contact me to discuss your needs.
I do NOT administer injections, and I will not take on care for pets which are close to end-of-life.

I request the following for every sit:
Your pets are registered with a vet, and that you provide me with any relevant pet insurance details.
You provide me with a guide to the care of your pet for reference (some notes, a video, a printed sheet or PDF - whichever is easier for you)
You provide me with a guide to your household (e.g. how to use heating, any appliance quirks, wifi codes etc)
You leave a list of emergency contacts and details
You provide enough pet food and spare cat litter / cleaning materials required for the duration of the sit.
I have a comfortable bed to sleep in, and you leave your home clean and tidy for me. I’ll make sure I leave the house the same for you.
Also if possible, some wardrobe/drawer space in a bedroom is very appreciated, and some kitchen cupboard and freezer space too. If this isn’t possible though, that’s ok.
