It’s time to

play

Imagine feeling creatively free.

Imagine letting go into creative flow.

Imagine if you discovered that the key to your creative voice was within you all along.

Live the creative life you long for

Do you feel a creative yearning inside you? A scratch that can’t be itched? A voice that wants to be spoken?

Creative play is the first and crucial step to finding creative freedom and fulfilment. Play inspires new discoveries, new ideas, and new creations. It helps us discover our likes and dislikes, and our unique creative voice. But though it might sound easy, making space for play can be hard.

Perhaps you spend so much time creating for your business or for other people, that you don’t have any left for yourself. Perhaps you struggle to move past the self-doubt and negative voices telling you not to create. Or perhaps you’ve just drifted somewhere along the way in this windy road of life, and find that other things always seem to be the priority.

Creativity and creative play often require big doses of courage, compassion and accountability. And I’m here to support with just that.

The Play Space is my brand new online 6 week group programme that will guide you to build a gentle, sustainable and above all joyful practice of creative play into your everyday.

I believe that you can live that full, beautiful, creative life you dream of, and I’d love to be there with you every step of the way.

“Almost all creativity involves purposeful play.”

Abraham Maslow

You can

When you play, the possibilities are endless. I absolutely believe you can:

Get creatively unstuck

Play is the first step into creativity. Play can help you move past the fears, blocks and barriers that hold your creativity back, and instead find looseness, freedom and flow.

Discover your creative voice

The best path to discovering your creative voice is by taking a journey within yourself. Play allows you to experiment and explore where your joy lies, building your own unique picture of creativity.

Be creatively prolific

When play becomes an easeful and natural part of your life, the creative floodgates are set loose, and you might just be surprised at how much you have inside that wants to be expressed.

Include your creative needs too

It’s easy to put your creative needs at the bottom of the pile, but it’s not selfish to make time for your creativity; it can improve your health & wellbeing, and feed into your creativity at work and in your personal life, opening up new avenues of possibility.

Make your practice work for YOU

Creativity doesn’t demand that we devote hours every day to it. You can adapt your creative practice to suit your capacity and find fulfilment. In fact, when you remove the pressure to feel like you “should” be creating, you might find that creating becomes easier!

Build the creative life you want

Opening up to play connects us to our own personal sense of joy, freedom and satisfaction. It opens us up to live a fully creative life. You have so many wonderful creative gifts to offer, and it all starts with one small step: play.

The Play Space is an online 6 week group programme that guides and supports you to explore your own personal practice of creative play with the accountability of community

Over 6 weeks of summer, you’ll find creative freedom & joy by:

Moving through creative resistance

You’ll have access to a library of creative warm-up exercises and play activities, specifically intended to support you to move through common creative blocks and barriers so that creativity becomes an easeful and intrinsic part of your everyday life.

Making play easeful and fun

The programme is full of activities and prompts to help you gather together ideas for your creative play, so that you spend less time trying to decide what to do, and more time actually creating!

Working with your capacity & energy

The whole programme is designed to support you to work with your capacity, so that you can build an enjoyable practice of play that is sustainable and nurturing for you in the long run. This means that there is no minimum amount for you to “do” every week, and you can adapt each week to suit your capacity.

Choosing your own creative adventure

Rather than a fixed weekly set of activities, The Play Space will guide you to pick and choose your own creative adventure, so you can tailor the experience to your own preferences and outlets. I’ll support you to set intentions and work out what you want to do, as well as create a play plan every week that helps you move in the right direction.

Reflecting on your experiences

You’ll find spaces for journalling and reflecting woven in to every part of The Play Space, so that you can learn, adapt and grow as you go. Play can teach us much about our creativity when we make space to reflect on it.

Sharing creative conversations

Magic can really start to happen when you can share your creations and reflections with other people, and this is at the heart of The Play Space. I’ll be available in our online community space to have creative conversations every week, and will be there to support you if there’s anything you struggle with.

I’ll guide and support you the whole way through:

An online Play Portal

Your Play Portal will be the hub for all the resources to guide you through the programme, as well as a library of creative play warm-ups and activities which you can draw on to try out in your creative play sessions if you want. There are activities from 5 minutes in length to an hour or more, and prompts which can be adapted to suit any creative pursuit.

A printable programme playbook

Alongside the Play Portal, you’ll have a downloadable playbook to guide you through the 6 weeks of the programme. Part planner and part journal, you’ll use this playbook to map out what you want to focus on, make weekly play plans and reflect on your play sessions.

A private slack community

The heart of the programme is a private Slack community, where you can keep yourself accountable, and share your creations & reflections from your play sessions. For the whole 6 weeks of the programme I’ll be present in the Slack community and inviting you to share your weekly intentions, celebrate your progress and join in with creative conversations. I would love to support you on your creative journey this summer.

Here to keep you gently accountable

(without compromising your needs)

There is no “getting behind” here

I’ve created The Play Space to be as accessible and adaptable as possible, so you can make it work for you and around whatever time or capacity you have. You can engage, create and connect entirely at your own pace, at the times that suit you best. Whether you have 5 minutes or an hour free, whether you can create once a week or every day, it’s all enough.

Join in any time, from any timezone

There are no live calls or events, which means you won’t miss a thing regardless of where you are in the world, when you work, if you have caregiving responsibilities, whether you are living with an energy-limiting health condition or you simply have a busy week.

Stay accountable together in Slack

I’ll be showing up for you in our private Slack group for all 6 weeks of the programme, sharing conversation, encouragement and support. I’ll invite you to share your intentions for the week there every Monday, and reflect on your creative journey every Friday.

I’ll be dropping in to connect during my working hours, which are variable, but are usually Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 9am - 4pm, and Friday mornings).

You make time to play, I’ll keep you gently accountable to it.

This IS for you if you:

  • Feel creatively stuck, lost or disconnected

  • Feel you’re holding back your creativity

  • Want to create but get overwhelmed with where to start or knowing what to do

  • Are ready to make a little more space in your life for your creativity

  • Need to reset your creativity

  • Crave a few weeks to play and let go

  • Want your creative practice to exist in harmony with your (perhaps limited) capacity

  • Enjoy calm, gentle community spaces

This is NOT for you if you:

  • Want someone to give you the answers

  • Are looking for a quick fix

  • Want a series of lessons teaching you artistic techniques or advanced skills

  • Need the fast-paced bustle of large community spaces or WhatsApp groups

  • Want an exact step-by-step plan to follow

  • Have one specific creative project you want to focus on and get finished (see my spring & autumn programmes for that!)

  • Are looking for a space to get your art critiqued and critique other people’s art

We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

George Bernard Shaw

I’ve been on this journey too. Play changed my life.

I spent too many years feeling that there was always something missing from my creativity, something more I wanted to do but I could never quite reach it. I took countless creative classes and workshops, looking for answers and trying to find myself in them, and nothing ever managed it.

It was after I began to experiment with creative play that things started to change for me, and when I devoted a whole month to creative play during an artist residency at the start of 2026 I discovered that the answers were within me all along. My experiments showed me that true creative freedom, fulfilment and joy happens when you look within and allow yourself to be… you. And that begins with play.

Play was a major catalyst for some significant changes in my life. It helped me process my emotions and move through grief, it took me down a completely new and unexpected avenue of writing and poetry, and it opened up possibilities in both my professional and personal life, helping me finally see myself as an artist.

I live with chronic health conditions that mean I have to adapt my creative practice to suit my constantly changing energy and capacity, and I have learned that by accepting and allowing this to happen, creativity can still flow. I wholeheartedly believe that the key to being creatively prolific is to let go of other people’s ideas of how creativity “should” be practiced, and instead seek to find what works for you.

The answers to your creativity are within you, and I am here to guide you on that journey.

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.

FAQs

  • The Play Space has an A4 playbook available as part of the programme, which can be downloaded as a PDF and printed at home, or printed on demand and delivered to your home from printers worldwide through Lulu.

If you join the Play Space before Monday 6th July, you will receive a copy of the pre-printed playbook completely free as an early bird bonus. This means you will receive a professionally printed and bound A4 copy of the playbook through your letterbox before the programme begins (as long as there aren’t printing issues or postal strikes), and you will have a physical workbook to write in and use throughout the programme. Yay!

I will use Lulu to print the playbooks on demand, which utilises printers located around the world. This means that your playbook will be printed and sent to you from the printers located closest to you (likely either the same country as you or a country nearby), making it possible for me to distribute the playbooks globally and minimise the carbon footprint.

If you join after the early bird cut-off date, you can order a copy of the playbook yourself manually through Lulu at cost (i.e. you pay the printing and postage, but I don’t make any money from it). It can take up to 14 days from day of purchase for the printed playbook to arrive however, so it may not arrive in time for the programme start date.

  • The printed playbook can be shipped to every country/territory EXCEPT the following:

    • Belarus

    • Central African Republic

    • Comoros

    • Cuba

    • Equatorial Guinea

    • Falkland Islands (Malvinas)

    • Guinea-Bissau

    • Iran

    • Johnston Island

    • Kiribati

    • Myanmar (Burma)

    • Nauru

    • Niue

    • North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)

    • Region of Crimea

    • Russia

    • Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha

    • Saint Pierre and Miquelon

    • São Tomé and Príncipe

    • Sierra Leone

    • Solomon Islands

    • Somalia

    • South Sudan

    • Sudan

    • Syrian Arab Republic

    • Tajikistan

    • Tokelau

    • Turkmenistan

    • Tuvalu

    • Ukraine

    • Venezuela

    • Wake Islands

    • Yemen

If you join The Play Space from any of these countries, then I am afraid you will not be able to receive a printed copy of the playbook. You will hoever be able to download it as a PDF still and print it yourself at home should you wish.

  • Not at all, everyone will have access to the playbook.

If you join the programme as an early bird, then you will get a free copy of the playbook printed and sent to the address you provided.

If you miss the early bird window however, you will still be able to download the playbook as a PDF to use & print at home, or you can order a copy of the playbook yourself manually through Lulu at cost (i.e. you pay the printing and postage, but I don’t make any money from it). It can take up to 14 days from day of purchase for the printed playbook to arrive however, so it may not arrive in time for the programme start date.

  • Not at all, you can join The Play Space wherever you are in the world! In fact, I’ve designed the programme to be delivered in a way that means you can join wherever you are in the world and not miss out on a single thing.

There are no live calls or co-creating sessions that you need to be present for. You can worth through the programme and playbook at a time that suits you, and participate in the Slack community whenever you are able.

I will only be present in Slack during my working hours (variable, but this will usually Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 9am - 3pm & Friday mornings GMT / UK time), but the beauty of these online communities is that you can post when you are able, and I will respond when I am able.

  • I am offering a sliding scale pricing tier for The Play Space, in the hope that it makes it more accessible for those who might otherwise not be able to join due to financial barriers.

I ask that you use the pricing tiers honestly in relation to your financial situation, and not simply because you want to pay less. At the same time, please do use the sliding scale freely if you genuinely need to. I myself have had to make use of sliding scale tiers to be able to access programmes, and I do not want anyone to feel excluded simply because of their financial situation.

    The tiers are as follows:

Full Price: £450 (or 3x monthly payments of £150)

The full price of the programme is available for you if you have financial security, and paying the full cost does not cause you financial hardship. You might own your own home, have savings or access to generational wealth or privilege, or have some other safety net in place.

Sliding scale tier 2: £350 (or 3x monthly payments of £117)

This tier is available for you if you have access to some financial security but circumstances (e.g. debt, high childcare costs) mean that the full price would cause financial hardship.

Sliding scale tier 3: £250 (or 5x monthly payments of £50)

This tier is available for you if your financial circumstances make the full investment inaccessible to you (e.g. you might have a disability, chronic health issues or care giving responsibilities which impact your income), and this makes it possible for you to enjoy the programme.

This tier has an option for a longer payment plan than the others (5 months instead of 3), to make this more accessible to those on low income.

  • You will have lifelong access to the online Play Portal and all its contents (that is, as long as I am in business and have a website presence).

The Slack community will remain available for at least 1 month after the end of the programme, however I will only be active and contactable within Slack for the 6 weeks the programme runs for.

  • No, there aren’t any live calls or co-creating sessions as part of The Play Space. Instead you are guided through the portal & your playbook to plan and carry out play sessions in your own time, and use the community space to stay accountable by sharing your weekly intentions and pictures or reflections of what you create. This keeps us connected, but ensures that the programme supports everyone regardless of their capacity or timezone.

  • At the very start of the programme I have some activities for you specifically to help you gather together ideas and generate an overall intention for what you want to make happen during the programme. You may find these ideas and intentions change over time, and that’s absolutely fine. Your weekly reflections will support you to adjust things if you need to.

You will also have access to a library full of warm-ups and play activities in your Play Portal, which you can use any time you want a quick activity idea. Many of these activities are prompts to help you try something new in your creative practice, and can be adapted for different creative pursuits.

  • Not at all, just having an intention to “play” and a rough idea of the materials you might want to use is enough to get started. You can use the activities and prompts in your Play Portal as a starting point, and see where they take you. The act of simply starting tends to be a catalyst for more ideas to develop. It can feel a little scary at first, but taking that leap into the unknown is an important part of creativity in itself. The more comfortable you become with the unknown, the easier it becomes to face it again in future.

  • Anything at all. The Play Space exists for you to devote time to your creative practice - whatever form that takes. Some of the warm-ups and activities in the Play Portal invite you to use writing or loose drawing, but no artistic ability is required, they are simply a means to connect to your creativity. Most of the programme is about guiding you to carry out your creative practice on your own terms, and so you can do whatever you want.

  • As The Play Space includes digital elements which are delivered immediately upon purchase, I cannot offer refunds for purchases made.

  • You can contact me with any further questions at hello@rhiannonadler.co.uk . I work flexible hours Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm, and it may take a few working days for me to reply.
